National Signing Day continues at Milton-Union Middle School as we introduce new staff for the 2025-2026 school year.
Please help us welcome Mrs. Angie Peltier to Milton-Union Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year as an Intervention Specialist.
Mrs. Peltier will join us after graduating from Wright State University in May of 1995 with a Bachelor of Education in Grades 1-8 from Wright State University. She continued with her education and earned a Master of Arts as an Intervention Specialist in 2020 and a Master of Education in 2022 from Muskingum University.
Previously, Mrs. Peltier has served as an Intervention Specialist with the Miami County ESC at the Lincoln Community Center, an Intervention Specialist with the Montgomery County Juvenile Court System and as a GED Instructor with the Upper Valley Career Instructor.
When not teaching, Mrs. Peltier enjoys spending time with her husband, four daughters, her granddaughter, Beckham, and her three dogs, Crew, Aspen and Bentley.
Mrs. Peltier is looking forward 'to the opportunity to make a significant impact on individual student learning and development by providing personalized support and tailored instruction, addressing individual learning styles, as well as academic and behavioral challenges. In addition, she is looking forward to developing meaningful relationships with students, understanding their individual strengths and needs, while creating a trusting learning environment. All student success begins with positive relationships. Furthermore, she is looking forward to collaborating and building strong relationships with her fellow teachers, administrators and staff members.'
Please help us welcome Mr. Elijah Walters to Milton-Union Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year as a Mathematics teacher.
Mr. Walters will join us after graduating from Wright State University in May of 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in 4-9 Mathematics. He is also a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School and is currently completing his student teaching at Weisenborn Junior High School in Huber Heights City Schools.
When not teaching, Mr. Walters enjoys spending time outdoors. Some of his favorite activities include fishing, hiking, camping, pickleball and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his family as well.
Mr. Walters is especially excited to join Milton-Union Middle School this upcoming school year and getting to know all of his students. He looks forward to making learning fun and engaging and cannot wait to be a member of such a great school community!
Today is Administrative Professionals Day and we would like to recognize Mrs. Becky Black at Milton-Union Middle School!
Mrs. Black's positive attitude and hard work are an inspiration to all of us, and she is the unsung hero of our office. From scheduling meetings, answering phone calls, managing emails, and supporting our parents, students and staff, we appreciate the many hats that Mrs. Black wears at MUMS!

MUMS 6th Grade Families:
Just a friendly reminder that JTI (Junior Teen Institute) registration and medical forms are due by May 2, 2025. JTI will be held May 9-11 at Ludlow Falls Church Camp and will include skis, speakers and various family group experiences talking through peer pressure, internet safety, bullying, saying no to drugs and vaping, being yourself and life as a 6th grader.

In recognition of April being the Month of the Military Child, Milton-Union Middle School will be celebrating 'Ohio Military Family Spirit Week' next week from April 14th-17th. Students and staff are invited to participate in the following days to recognize and acknowledge our military-sponsored families: Monday, April 14: Red, White and Blue Day - Tuesday, April 15: Statewide Purple Up! Day - Wednesday, April 16: Support Your Favorite Military Branch Day - Thursday, April 17: Camouflage Day - Friday, April 18: No School (Easter Break).

From helping students navigate tough days to supporting teachers and keeping everything running smoothly, Mr. Lane wears a lot of hats and does it with pride, patience and dedication.

Taking on a new role this year as a Reading Intervention Teacher, Mrs. Lange consistently holds her students to a high standard and expectations in her class. Her students work hard because they appreciate her dedication in the classroom. Mrs. Lange is an experienced teacher that is constantly thinking about the next best thing for her students. Mrs. Lange loves her students and is very passionate about education and her students in and out of the classroom!

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 8:10 am, Milton-Union Middle School entered a 'Soft Lockdown' scenario and conducted a K-9 sweep of the building as a safety drill. Please see the enclosed letter for more details on this drill and the purpose of conducting it at Milton-Union Middle School.

Congratulations to Mrs. Mary August for being named the Milton-Union Middle School Staff Member of the Month for February!
Whether it is a student or a staff member, Mrs. August is always there with an open ear, a willingness to listen and to provide support for her colleagues and students.
On numerous occasions, Mrs. August dropped whatever it is she is doing to assist a student or colleague and is always willing to provide help where it is needed.

Yesterday provided a great opportunity for some of our 8th-11th grade student athletes to participate in the Three Rivers Conference Leadership Breakthrough event at the Arbogast Performing Arts Center on the campus of Troy Christian Schools. Our students spent the day interacting with other student athletes from our league affiliates and participated in group discussions on leadership, developing your personal leadership skills and the impact of leadership on your community, school and teams.
Milton-Union Middle School was represented by the following student athletes: Stella Blackburn, Jordyn Jackson, Zachary Carpenter and Grayson Sanders!
