Piggy Bank and Book Stack

What exactly is a mill? How are school districts funded? What is the difference between the school district’s general fund and permanent improvement dollars? How is public school accounting different than personal finance? How do I know if the school district is being fiscally responsible?

If you have ever pondered these questions during levy cycles, wondered how public-school finance in Ohio can be so complicated, and need simple answers, consider joining us on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in the Media Center at 6:00pm for “School Finance 101.” School officials and district consultants will demonstrate how to track long and short-term fiscal health using the five-year forecast and monthly financial reports. Presenters will help simplify the complex rules and procedures of Ohio school finance so that residents can better gauge district accounting and solvency.

We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your continued support of the Milton-Union Schools.
