During the press conference yesterday, Governor DeWine closed public and private schools effective at the end of the day Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020. The Governor also outlined expectations for social gatherings and events. Circumstances related to COVID-19 continue to evolve moment-to-moment. The following steps are immediately being taken by Milton-Union Schools.
Students should take personal belongings, instructional materials, and any items needed for the next 15 school days with them at the end of the day today (Friday, March 13, 2020). If any of our families have specific needs, please reach out by phone or e-mail to the Board of Education Office or your child's school office. We continue to discuss options to serve students over the course of the next three weeks. Again, the situation evolves moment-to-moment, so additional updates will be provided as needed.
For so many reasons, our entire school district is heartbroken for our students. We will miss our youngsters dearly. We care about them beyond words. However, we are prioritizing the health, safety, and wellness of our students, their parents and caregivers, district staff members, and our community stakeholders in every decision being made. As always, thank you for continued and unwavering support of our community school district's students and staff members.
