Write a short note to let everyone know what you have been up since you graduated from MUHS. Your description can be a few short sentences or a more detailed description (up to 250 words) of your experiences since graduating from MUHS.

After graduation, I attended Wright State University where I earned a BS in Finance.  I worked as a Staff Accountant for two years at Reynolds & Reynolds, then went to LexisNexis where I stayed for 10 years as a Sr. Consultant and Manager of Research Services.  Recently, I obtained a position as an independent sales rep for Jostens' Yearbooks.

I currently reside in Miamisburg with my wife, Katy, and two boys, Blake (10) and Cole (7).  My wife is an RN at Southview Maternity.

What is your fondest memory of MUHS?

I miss being in a small town.  My kids are growing up in a much larger community and school system which has its advantage along with whole new set of challenges.  I enjoyed playing baseball at MUHS under coach Berry.  He was a rare breed that let us be ourselves and have fun.

What have been your biggest challenges and/or surprises about life after high school?

Life is full of challenges and surprises.  Managing a marriage, career and the lives of my kids is no surprise - but certainly a load of responsibility not to mention a great tool to recede my hairline.

What course, faculty member or activity at MUHS has had the most impact on your life?

Surprisingly, I think the most important skill I developed in high school was typing.  As far as educators go, I think one of the few that got me was Mr. Phillips the French instructor.  He inspired me to challenge myself and prove myself by furthering my education at the college level.

What activities did you participate in at MUHS?

My main activity once in high school was baseball.  Other than that, I was a class clown that tried to make people laugh and have a good time.

Where do you see yourself in the next five to ten years?

I will be one of the top yearbook representatives in the country for my current employer.  I like the competition and like helping people.

Did your teachers prepare you well for life after high school?

Probably more than I'll ever know.  I work closely with educators and schools now and get a much more mature view of the influence they have on kids that last a lifetime.

Please list any advice you would like to give our seniors? (Class of 2008) Or underclassmen at MUHS.

What you do now will affect the rest of your lives.  It is up to you to challenge yourself - don't wait on someone else to do it.  Take pride in showing others that you can exceed their expectations.  Don't be afraid to fail.  If you are, you will take no risks and see no reward.

You can do anything you want in life never fear to reach for your dreams. Without dreams you have no hope and without hope you forget your dreams. Stay positive and know that when there is a tragedy in your life their is always a light at the end of the tunnel even when you can't see it.

Graduation Year:

2000

Write a short note to let everyone know what you have been up since you graduated from MUHS. Your description can be a few short sentences or a more detailed description (up to 250 words) of your experiences since graduating from MUHS.

Sarah DeAngulo attended the Columbus College of Art & Design 2001-2003, and then finished up her course work in London, England in 2004.  She graduated with a B.F.A. in Illustration.  Sarah is now self-employed, using the knowledge gained from her degree to paint massive murals.  From elementary schools to the Columbus Zoo, she has been graced by God to have had several noteworthy clients.  Sarah also coaches middle school softball, teaches art to homeschoolers, and travels whenever the occassion presents itself.  :)  Within the past three years she has had the privilege of going to Mexico, Zambia (Africa) and Benin (Africa.)  She will be going to Brazil in August with about 12 other people from her church, The Vineyard Church of Columbus.

What is your fondest memory of MUHS?

the art room.  ;) ... every moment spent there.

What have been your biggest challenges and/or surprises about life after high school?

It's always a challenge to leave your friends behind, but the Lord hooked me up with an amazing community of people here in Columbus.  Though I still miss my dear friends in West Milton, leaving the "village" was definitely worth the heart-ache.

Meanwhile, attending C.C.A.D. was certainly one of the hardest things I've ever done - I had never been so sleep deprived in all my life!  But, I had never had so much fun before, either.

What course, faculty member or activity at MUHS has had the most impact on your life?

Mr. Beane (Hon. Trig.) was a total encouragement to me - so very kind and patient with my numerically-challenged brain, and more than that: he genuinely cared about me, as a person.

Mrs. Dickison taught me how to endure.  :)  (volleyball)

Mrs. Tryon kept the creative part of my spirit alive.

What activities did you participate in at MUHS?

ummm... what didn't I participate in?  hmmmm...
National Honor Society, Class Vice President, volleyball, softball, drama, Young Spirits, Science Olympiad... and a few other things...

Where do you see yourself in the next five to ten years?

God only knows!  It would be nice to be married by then. :)  Hopefully I'll have had the opportunity to create many more ginormous murals around Columbus... I want to create big art!  AND, hopefully I'll have had the chance to travel to many more places around the world; I love God's people... I just want to hold his kids and feed the hungry.

Did your teachers prepare you well for life after high school?

They did their best. :)

Seek truth.  Live humbly.  Pursue justice.  Love mercy.
